Prospective Undergraduate Students

The College of Architecture and Urban Studies is home to 11 majors that we invite you to explore. Everything related to undergraduate admissions is handled through the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Prospective Transfer Students

According to the university, you are considered to be a transfer applicant if you have attempted 12 or more credit hours at another college or university any time following graduation from high school. The Transfer Guide from the University Registrar provides helpful information such as transferable courses and transfer requirements.

Prospective Graduate Students

The college offers 12 masters and doctoral degrees through our locations in Blacksburg, Alexandria, and Richmond, Virginia. Applications for all graduate degree programs are handled through the Graduate School.

Prospective International Students

Dec. 15 – Early Decision Applicant Notification
Jan. 15 – Early Decision Responses Due to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions
Dec. 1 – Fall (Freshmen) Application Deadline
April 1 – Freshmen Applicant Notification
May 1 – Regular Decision responses due to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions

For transfer students:

Applying for Fall/Summer:
Feb. 15 – Deadline to apply for Fall/Summer
May 1 – Notification of Admission Decision for Fall/Summer
June 1 – Response Due for Offer of Admission for Fall/Summer
Oct. 1 – Deadline to apply for Spring (on a space available basis only)
Nov. 15 — Notification of Admission Decision for Spring
Dec. 15 – Response Due for Offer of Admission for Spring

For graduate students:

Admissions deadlines can vary by program, so you should contact your proposed academic department for specific application deadlines; however, we encourage you to submit your application as early as possible. Mid-December is the preferred date to process fall applications.
